ACCESS ERROR LOGS

Check Apache and PHP error logs. Found as follows:

error logs; http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Error_log  – couldn’t figure out how to get to the logs.

TESTING BY REMOVAL OF .HTACCESS

I removed the htaccess file. I get the following:

Not Found

The requested URL /2015/07/consolidation-of-proofs-by-richard-fox-young-of-plagiarism-by-rajiv-malhotra-and-aravindan-neelakandan/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

So this is getting more mysterious. It is possible that the whole thing (404/500/403 is interelinked, and is coming from an underlying problem).

PERMALINKS AGAIN.

I then brought back permalinks to “default” then re-did to custom. Now (without the .htaccess) the URLs are working again.

SETTING HTACCESS BACK

Have tried to set it back now, using Bullet proof security.

THE ERROR IS BACK.

Clearly, Bulletproof security is causing the problem. I’m removing the plugin. Even after removing it, it forced the same problems. Means that BPS DAMAGES PERMALINKS.

I disabled htaccess again but this time it couldn’t work. I had to completely remove bulletproof from the server, all trace of it. then redo the permalinks and now it is working again.

BUT NOW i have no htaccess file!
